AQUATIC EXAMINER/ LIFEGUARD INSTRUCTOR
American Red Cross of Greater Kansas City is seeking individuals to join the Health and Safety Services team. This individual will be a part of the Aquatic Examiner program assisting local aquatic facilities with program development, on-site evaluations, and in-service trainings. Along with the Examiner program, the candidate will lead lifeguard and other related courses. The individual will also assist with oversight of third party provider programs and assist with maintenance of equipment according to guidelines.
Individual must be available to work various days, eves & weekends. During spring months, weekends and Sunday evenings are primary work hours. During summer months, day, evening, and weekend hours are available. Amount of hours will vary; individuals will be scheduled as needed. No guaranteed hours are provided for this position. Pay is $10 per hour.
Requirements Include:
H.S. Diploma. Valid Driver’s License. Certifications in Lifeguard Instructor & CPR for Professional Rescuer. Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in an environment subject to frequent changes (i.e. indoors, outdoors, hot, cold, wet).

American Red Cross of Greater Kansas City is seeking a highly qualified professional to provide fundraising for an organization committed to helping people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.
Responsible for development of fundraising goals and strategies; major gifts solicitation & campaign management; fundraising volunteer development; management of major fundraising events. Qualified individuals will have demonstrated senior level fund raising experience for a not for profit organization; proven record of soliciting major and leadership gifts ($25,000-$500,000+). Advanced knowledge of best practices in capital campaign fund raising, major gifts solicitation, planned and deferred giving, donor recognition and stewardship, membership, direct mail, telemarketing and events management. Ability to develop and strengthen relationships with the Board, local and national donors and community leaders. Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and public speaking skills; ability to represent the Red Cross in public forums.
Requirements include:
Bachelor’s Degree in communications, marketing, liberal arts, business administration or other related field. Certification in fundraising (CFRE) highly desirable; 5 years or more of successful development experience in leading a financial development team and working with committee and board volunteers; demonstrated success in leading a multi-faceted development programs. Must have knowledge of modern office equipment including the ability to use a personal computer and related software including Microsoft Word and Excel; preferred experience using specialty software for donor database management.
